All of us at SHRM are thinking of you and all of our members in Georgia as you prepare for Hurricane Matthew to make landfall.

Our team gathered information and resources to help our members prepare and recover from the storm at:  How to Prepare, Recover as Hurricane Matthew Heads for FloridaWe shared this resource online and through our social channels. Feel free to share it with your network, as well.

A disaster preparedness toolkit is also available on SHRM’s Volunteer Leader Resource Center. A: disaster preparedness toolkit.

More than anything, we want you and your loved ones to be safe. Please take every precaution ahead of the storm and let me know if there is any way SHRM can help.

Welcome to the SHRM GA State Council website!  Our intention is to connect HR professonals throughout the peach state to  State Chapters, and SHRM.

The SHRM Georgia State Council,  was established in 1992 and continues to serve the needs of the HR profession by advancing the profession and supporting the HR professional.  This is accomplished by providing information through conferences, webinars and resources; helping focus HR professionals on Core Leadership Areas and inspiring chapter leadership.    The board is comprised of volunteer leaders who encourage  collaboration, leadership development, and coordinate state and national legislative inititives. The full Council includes SHRM Chapter Presidents who include HR practitioners, educators, consultants, legal professionals, and business persons representing a broad range of organizations throughout the State.

Our accomplishments include conference events, Congressional meetings and DC Fly-ins, expanded partnerships and alliances, engaged support for academic and Work Ready programs, and expanded leadership development opportunities.

I hope you’ll bookmark our site and visit it often as we continue to update information and resources. I also hope you’ll be motivated to seek out a Chapter event in your area, or join me at a State Council event. I welcome your consideration and interest in joining the Council as a volunteer or as a sponsor to our many important events.
