    Recognition Awards

    The SHRM Georgia State Council is pleased to announce that nominations are currently being accepted for the statewide recognition program commemorating outstanding contributions to the human resource management profession.  Don’t miss this opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the “best of the best” in Georgia.  Whether it is an HR leader or a company embracing the best of what HR has to offer, we want it recognized.  This year we begin the expansion of the recognition program to showcase even more hardworking and dedicated HR professionals and their innovative and forward thinking ideas.  Nomination forms are at the bottom of this page.

    Chapter of the Year

    Best in Georgia Award

    This award recognizes a chapter that has demonstrated excellence in the execution of one or more projects related to one or more of the Core Areas listed below.  The nominated “Chapter of the Year - Georgia” organizations serve as role models for other chapters, set the standard other chapters follow and apply their expertise to enhance chapter effectiveness in executing SHRM’s mission to serve and advance the profession.

    Best Project of the Year Awards

    This award seeks to recognize the project executed by a Chapter, Company or individual which utilizes best practices and/or strategies of any of the Core Areas listed below.  The “Best Project of The Year Award” should seek to inspire and challenge other HR professionals to think and act outside of their comfort box to highlight HR’s contributions to organizations, companies or individuals.  The project will be judged by a group of peers in the human resources profession.

    Community Impact Award

    This award recognizes the chapter or individual which has had a significant impact on a community and highlights the value of human resources in one of the core areas below.  The nominated chapter or individual will serve to set the standard others follow and apply their expertise to enhance chapter effectiveness in executing SHRM’s mission to serve and advance the profession.

    Company of the Year Award

    This award recognizes a Georgia company/institution that has advanced the human resources profession by ensuring that HR is recognized as an essential partner in developing and executing organizational strategy.  The winner of this award will serve as a role model and set the standard for other companies/institutions to follow.

    Student of the Year Award

    Recognizes an exceptional undergraduate or graduate student preparing for work in the field of human resource management.

    Student Chapter of the Year Award

    Recognizes a student chapter serve as role models for other student chapters, offering best practices that other student chapters can follow in helping members learn more about HR and the real world of business.

    HR Leader of the Year Award 

    Recognizes a human resource leader who has advanced the profession in a significant way. At the top their profession, nominees serve as role models to peers, set the standard others follow and have applied their expertise to enhance the profession across the state of Georgia.

    Volunteer of the Year Award

    SHRM GA Council

    Recognizes up to three volunteers who have done an outstanding job of actively supporting, promoting and developing the human resource profession across Georgia through volunteer activities for the State Council.

    New Star HR Leader of the Year

    This award seeks to identify up to 3 persons new to the Human Resources profession but is already showing themselves to be a rising human resource leader in our Chapters.  Each Chapter will have one nominee and all shall be recognized at the SHRM Georgia State Conference.   The recipients will be nominated by their Chapters and seen as the rising HR professional to emulate. 

    Nominations must be submitted on the appropriate nomination form by 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on August 15 2017.  The period of nominations is for the past 12 months, with a cut-off date of August 15, 2017.  Please forward your completed nomination form(s) and make sure that and any supporting documentation to me at the physical or e-mail address listed below.  Please note that incomplete entries will be disqualified and considered ineligible for consideration.

    Nominees and winners will be announced and honored at the SHRM Georgia State Council Conference, October 8 - 11, 2017, at the Jekyll Island, GA.
